Recent Job – Rendering – Grays, Essex

I recently flat rendered a bungalow in my home town of Grays in Essex. The job turned out great so I thought I’d write a quick blog post about it.

The customer’s home was covered with pebble-dash before I started but they wanted to go for a flat finish using traditional sand and cement flat render.

I started by removing all the old pebble-dash and taking everything back to bricks.

I then applied a layer of adhesive to ensure all further coats bonded with the brickwork.

This was followed by two coats of 3 to 1 sand and cement. First a scratch coat, then a top coat 3 days later.

The finish turned out perfectly and is a great example of flat render, as you can see from the picture.
